County Leaders Celebrate Completion of Cypress Ridge Speculative Industrial Building

Leaders from across Jasper County joined the Jasper County Chamber of Commerce and SouthernCarolina Alliance for ribbon cutting ceremonies on October 23 to celebrate the completion of construction of the Cypress Ridge Speculative Building at the Cypress Ridge Industrial Park in Ridgeland.

The 50,387 square-foot industrial building, which is expandable to over 100,000 square feet, is located 5 minutes from Exit 21 on I-95 in Jasper County, placing it within a 35-minute drive of the Port of Savannah and an 80-minute drive of the Port of Charleston.

“Jasper County and SouthernCarolina Alliance are excited about the completion of this building because it’s just off the interstate in the corridor between two rapidly growing ports and two rapidly expanding aerospace hubs surrounding Boeing in Charleston and Gulfstream in Savannah,” said Jasper County Councilman Marty Sauls, who serves as Chairman of SouthernCarolina Alliance.  “We are working with projects throughout the year that find Jasper County’s location and workforce ideal for their projects, making this new building a critical marketing tool.”

Mayor Joey Malphrus of Ridgeland added, “Jasper County has experienced tremendous success in offering speculative buildings to companies interested in locating to the area.  The completion of the Cypress Ridge Spec Building #4 promises to create many jobs in the region and will join the successful operations of other companies located in the Cypress Ridge Industrial Park including Coca Cola, TICO, Ohio Gratings, Brown-Campbell Company, and Be Green Packaging.”

Design and engineering services for the building were provided by Carlisle & Associates, with MB Kahn Construction responsible for the construction.

Mr. Sauls thanked several partners involved in the development and funding of the building.  In addition to SouthernCarolina Alliance and Jasper County, he thanked the teams at Hargray, Palmetto Electric Cooperative, Santee Cooper, the SC Department of Commerce, St. Peters  Parish/Jasper County Public Facilities Corporation, the Cypress Ridge Design Review Committee and members of the Jasper County staff.
