One of Colleton County's Greatest Assets

The Lowcountry Regional Airport (RSW), is the largest general aviation airport in South Carolina. Surrounding the airport is approximately 500 acres of land designated to accommodate on and off airport operations. 130 acres have been assessed to Level III Site Certification, saving startup time and costs. An additional 113 airside acres are located in a multi-county park designation offering tax incentives to industries who locate here.

In addition to being one of the busiest container ports along the southeast and Gulf coasts, it is also recognized as one of the most productive – averaging 41 moves per hour per crane, well above the U.S. port standard of 25-27.
 
The deep water and high bridges allow the Port to serve ships of more than 8,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs); in 2010, the Port handled 1.28 million TEUs.  Each year, more than 30 different shipping lines serving 150 countries use South Carolina’s ports.  Our region offers sites within 45 minutes to 90 minutes of the Port of Charleston.

PORT OF SAVANNAH:

75-Minute Drive Time

The largest single container terminal in North America, the Port of Savannah is within a 15-minute to 90-minute drive of our industrial sites.  Two railroads, Norfolk Southern and CSX are on terminal.  With 9,700 Feet of contiguous berth space, the Port of Savannah is a four-hour drive to major markets in Atlanta, Orlando and Charlotte.
