USDA Rural Business Development Grant
to Offer Microloans to Small Businesses in the Region
SouthernCarolina Alliance has received a USDA Rural Business Development Grant in the amount of $150,000.00 to offer Microloans to small business startups or businesses wanting to expand in Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties.
Hampton, SC - SouthernCarolina Alliance will start accepting applications for Microloans from small businesses in the region on Wednesday October 16, 2019. The purpose of the Microloan Program is to provide small loans to startup, newly established, or growing small businesses wishing to expand.
“We are excited to be able to offer this opportunity to small companies in our rural area that are investing in our region and creating jobs,” said SouthernCarolina Alliance President and CEO Danny Black. “In many cases, a small loan can make the difference in enabling a new company to launch or a growing company to expand.”
Any business wishing to establish a new operation or expand an existing operation in Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper Counties is eligible to apply. Applicants may request to borrow an amount between $5,000.00 to $50,000.00.
