RIDGELAND, S.C. - Coca-Cola Consolidated will invest more than $5 million in a new sales and distribution center at the Cypress Ridge Industrial Park in Ridgeland, bringing 45 existing jobs with the operation and creating at least 20 new jobs.

According to Steve Curtis, the local branch manager for Coca-Cola Consolidated, the company chose the Cypress Ridge Spec Building in Jasper County because of the convenient location and workforce advantages at the site.

“Coke Consolidated has a rich history in South Carolina, and this investment reinforces the commitment we have to the state,” said Curtis. “This new facility will help us operate more efficiently to better serve our retail customers and loyal consumers throughout the region while creating jobs.”

Coca-Cola Consolidated has seven locations in South Carolina and employs more than 1200 people in the state. The new facility will handle sales and distribution of Coca-Cola products throughout Allendale, Bamberg, Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper Counties.

“Coca-Cola has been an important partner to our state for a long time – employing over 1,200 South Carolinians,” said S.C. Governor Henry McMaster.  “Every time a company like Coca-Cola decides to invest in South Carolina, it shows the world that there is no company too big or too small to find success here.”

“Coca-Cola Consolidated has been a longtime member of the South Carolina business community, and we’re thrilled that they continue to invest in our state and its people. We look forward to watching this partnership thrive in the years ahead,” added S.C. Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.

“Jasper County welcomes Coca-Cola to our business and industrial community,” said Jasper County Council Chairman Marty Sauls, who also serves as Vice Chairman of SouthernCarolina Alliance.  “We are proud that this highly respected and globally recognized American brand has chosen to grow their operations in our community. We also appreciate the jobs that this investment will bring because every job created affects a family in our region.”

“SouthernCarolina Alliance salutes Coca-Cola for their commitment to creating jobs and investment in our region, and we look forward to working with the company in the years to come,” added SouthernCarolina Alliance Chairman Buddy Phillips.

According to Mayor Joey Malphrus of Ridgeland, “We are delighted that this renowned company has chosen to invest in Ridgeland, where we look forward to providing the fine workforce and outstanding locational assets that Coca-Cola and other companies seek for manufacturing and distribution.”
