TICO (Terminal Investment Corporation), a manufacturer employing more than 150 at their facility in Cypress Ridge Industrial Park, has been featured on the holiday greeting card sent to business and community leaders throughout the region and state by SouthernCarolina Alliance.

According to Kay Maxwell, Vice President of Marketing for SouthernCarolina Alliance, the regional economic development marketing group for Jasper County’s economic development program, TICO was selected for the cover of the holiday card because of the impact the company has had in the region.

“Our job is to market our region to attract industries from around the world, and we focus on that mission in all of our marketing efforts, large and small,” said Maxwell.  “Every year we feature a company, product, artist or asset of natural beauty located in our region as part of our holiday message.  This year, we felt that TICO would be the perfect match in carrying out our message of thanksgiving while also promoting our mission.”

A manufacturer of terminal tractors and related equipment for the port, intermodal, and distribution industry sectors, TICO announced earlier this year that they will expand their operations at Cypress Ridge Industrial Park in Ridgeland with the addition of a parts distribution center as part of their product support program.

SouthernCarolina Alliance’s holiday card featured a TICO terminal vehicle on the cover hauling a Christmas tree, rather than one of the TEU containers the company hauls at ports around the world.  The message of the card was entitled, “Sleighing Innovation,” and touted TICO’s investment in Jasper County and their innovation in their industry sector.  The card’s message also pointed out that TICO was one of many global industries located in the SCA region because of the proximity to ports, interstate access, and the growing workforce.

The message of the Christmas card concluded with a message directed at Santa:

Although we haven’t seen TICO vehicles hauling Christmas trees in the TEU’s at the terminal, TICO terminal trucks are the vehicle of choice for moving goods from around the globe at ports throughout North America, so Santa may want to take note: TICO can handle the heavy loads, and they’ve been mighty good to our region this year. Besides, the SCA region provides a great location for global distribution . . .

According to Jasper County Council Chairman Marty Sauls, who serves as Vice Chairman of SouthernCarolina Alliance, “Jasper County has always been proud to have TICO as a leader in our industrial community, manufacturing the industry’s best terminal vehicles.  TICO’s success means success for our community, and Jasper County will continue to do all that we can to assist this industry leader in their expansion. We are honored to feature them on our Christmas card this year.”
