Southern Current Invests in Hampton County

Southern Current, a leading developer in the residential, commercial and utility-scale solar markets, is expanding its solar farm portfolio with a new, 10-megawatt facility in Hampton County. The company is investing $14 million in this latest project.

Southern Current is an owner and developer of utility-scale solar energy facilities across the southeastern United States. With an in-house team of development professionals, the company manages projects from site selection and origination through construction and operation.

I’m proud to welcome Southern Current’s latest operation to Hampton County and celebrate, not only the economic opportunities, but the environmental opportunities this project will generate," added Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt.
